DR. EMILI AYATS - CONGENITAL CATARACT SURGERY IS A SUCCESS 15 YEARS LATER
The child was operated when he was 3 years old. Now he is 19. He has a permanent job, he can drive and also he has a completly normal life without wearing glasses. This video demonstrate that the innovative operation done by Dr. Ayats those days which consisted in an implantation of intraocular lens in each eye with different powers (one eye to focus up close and the other to focus at a distance) was a success.
DR. EMILI AYATS - CONGENITAL CATARACT SURGERY IN ORDER TO ACHIVE MONO VISION
Mammadou is a 4-year-old boy son of a Senegalese immigrant couple who was born with congenital cataracts. At the school they discovered that he had vision problems. Dr. Emili Ayats operated him in Clinica Girona with an innovative process which consisted in an implantation of two different lenses in the eye. After that he was able to focus up close with one eye and focus at a distance with the other.
